Religious Education Publisher.
Culinary Foundation Textbook
Designed and produced covers and layouts for two levels of the National Restaurant Association’s student foundation books that features relevant, real-world content within a framework designed to enable success in the classroom. Photography-rich foundation book required heavy photo retouching, accessing stock photography, creating illustrations, tables, infographics and creating files for print as well as online website. Designed layouts for the Coursebook and ServSafe Manager book.

Created layouts for Grocery Business Cheese Handbook featuring articles on Wisconsin dairy farmers and grocers.
Children’s Textbooks
Following the initial concept created by the publisher’s editorial and design departments, I created hundreds of textbook pages like the ones in this section. I developed and designed templates, master pages, artwork, libraries, styled manuscript, placed and manipulated images, and created layouts, in English, French and Spanish. I also created the “cookbooks” to exacting specifications to keep the look consistent and the workflow efficient.

Patricia’s Patisserie
French Bakery serving elegant, hand-made pastries.
Created logo using typeface that suggests piped frosting on a cake. Chose color palette based on maple, chocolate and cherry pastries. Designed branding package to set Patricia’s Patisserie apart from other bakeries in the area. Included are options for this startup company to choose from.

GL Designer Catalog
Completely redesigned and produced 700+ page designer lighting catalog for the largest decorative lighting company in North America to inspire, inform and captivate the consumer. Produced printed version and interactive web version.

Designed/produced layouts for ED Ellen DeGeneres’ new collection of lighting products.
Faux Flower Arrangements
Created comp layouts for a new catalog concept displaying beautiful faux flower arrangements, products and pricing.

Walgreens
Created high-impact print and online layouts for the weekly circular ads. Style guides and templates were followed to develop these ads following strict brand guidelines, which were then resized and reversioned for market-specific circulars. This is an email comp created in Photoshop advertising the Spring lineup for Blue Wave, an online women’s clothing store.
Stock imagery is silhouetted and flower illustrations were created in Illustrator.

This cover uses a simple, clean layout design, cool colors, and a light and airy font to emulate the minimal characteristics of modern interiors.

This spread created using exclusively typography and lots of white space.
Eagle
The design concept here was to give the eagle plenty of room on the page, no borders (or rectangles) to box it in, just airy clouds in the background. No box around the map and text is ragged on right side, not justified. Colors for the type and map were taken from the eagle so it all pulls together. I did a lot of image manipulation so you could see all the details on the feathers under him. Really enjoyed the trip and taking the photos of this bald eagle and its mate!
